Apparently, Hyundai Rotem is building the second batch of 182 cars, known as the HR5000. They would replace the A650s with AC motors. The first 64 cars of CRRC HR4000s would replace the first batch of A650s, which are DC powered. That's what I heard recently.

Oh man, I can’t wait to ride these new trains, I mostly catch it at 7th st metro center to Hollywood or Universal Station, They should’ve put the same electric horn like the original A650’s or BART’s Electric horn, I don’t understand about the steam locomotive whistle installed

The horn sounds like a steam locomotives whistle. But you know what, I kinda like it although its kinda eerie

I can't believe they used Talgo's Wisconsin factory originally meant for the A650s

That whistle reminds me of the Southern Pacific
